David W. Powell, M.D. is a board-certified dermatologist who has been practicing dermatology for over 23 years in both Texas and Louisiana. He graduated from The Tulane University School of Medicine in 1993 and completed his Internal Medicine training at the Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth, Virginia. Dr. Powell then graduated from the Naval Aerospace Medicine Institute in Pensacola, Florida and served 4 years on active duty in Texas and overseas as a United States Naval Flight Surgeon. After his military service, he returned to New Orleans to complete his dermatology residency training at The Tulane University Medical Center and Charity Hospital.

Dr. Powell has practiced in Houston and Lafayette and is now excited to return to the Northshore area to be closer to friends and family. He specializes in general medical and surgical dermatology, skin cancer prevention and detection, and treats patients of all ages.
